I wanted you all to know that my next story has a name, and about thirty thousand words already. The story line is based on one of my favorite heroes from the science fiction series named the Dave Brewster Series. In The Hive, Book3, Dave encounters the Nan culture in the nearest spiral galaxy. They are very spiritual and focused on home and family life, even though the other human civilizations in that spiral treat the Nan as servants and slaves.
The Nan hero I wrote about is Odo Pak. He was the leader of their planet. Throughout his lives, he had been so honest and helpful that he became Transcendent, and would live for eternity.
My new story focuses on a young man, Brother John, who was raised in a monastery after having been left at their doorway. He knows nothing about his past. When he graduates, he forms an alliance with his sage, Matthias, and begins his own training as a sage.
While the religious beliefs of the Nan people are different from ours, the overall goal of being good and honest people is familiar.
At one point, Matthias is taken away by an alien civilization which had destroyed their ecosystem. They hoped the sage would fix their problems, but he is just a traveling priest, not a miracle-worker. Odo Pak tells our hero that he must save the alien world and rescue his sage.
That’s about as far I have gotten in my story, although all of my stories generally have a positive outcome. I will try to update you when I approach the end of the tale. Wish me luck! And thanks for checking this out.
Good luck with the story, Karl!
